Having demonstrated a full commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) throughout the year, Hoist Finance UK and Robinson Way have won the Fundraising Initiative of the Year Award at the Collections & Customer Service Awards 2015, highlighting their work in Salford where their Head Office is based.
To make a genuine impact on the community, employees were fully engaged in selecting the local benefactors, voting for Mind in Salford, the mental health awareness charity, and Lark Hill Primary School.
Alison Dingwall, Head of Human Resources at Hoist Finance, proudly points out that fundraising has more than doubled in 12 months: “Whether it is helping to deliver food parcels for the local community, funding mental health awareness courses, or volunteering at Lark Hill’s events, employees have given the programme their full support,” she says. “This award recognises their efforts and will encourage them to do even more in the future.”
Throughout the summer Lark Hill’s 600 pupils enjoyed fully-funded educational school trips, including day trips to the historic city of Chester and to the beach, with Hoist and Robinson Way’s employees offering their time to help out. For many of the children at the school, this was their first experience of a trip outside their local area.
In addition to the support provided at the school, funds raised also covered the cost of two courses for Mind in Salford which, over an eight-week period, assisted local individuals experiencing stress and anxiety.
“In 2016 we have plans to develop our CSR policy further” Alison continues, “by undertaking a range of new initiatives which continue to assist our chosen benefactors.”
